A popular tourist route will be shut for months as part of a refurbishment project to the steps.
If you weren’t aware, It was announced last week by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust that the main steps on St Catherine‘s Hill will be shut until November, as part of their regeneration.
The work started August 18, and they are working to replace the wooden steps on the main path up St Catherine’s Hill. This essential work will make the route safer and easier to use, while helping to protect the delicate habitats alongside the path.
For everyone’s safety, the steps and the surrounding section of the path will be closed while the work takes place.
“We expect to finish by November, and we’ll share updates on our website and social media once the work is complete.
