About New Alresford Town Council

New Alresford is served by three tiers of local government, each with its own set of responsibilities. At the heart of it all is New Alresford Town Council, your most local and accessible level of government, working directly with and for the community.

We’re here to help make New Alresford a great place to live, work, and visit. Whether it’s maintaining green spaces, supporting local events, or helping community groups thrive, we’re proud to play a hands-on role in day-to-day life in our town.

Here’s a quick overview of how the different councils work together:

• New Alresford Town Council – That’s us!
  We focus on the local issues that matter most to residents, such as community spaces, play areas, town events, public seating and signage, and working with local organisations to support the wellbeing of everyone in New Alresford.

• Winchester City Council  Our district council
  They are responsible for services like planning applications, council housing, waste collection, car parks, and street cleaning.

• Hampshire County Council – The top tier
  They look after bigger county-wide services such as schools, roads and pavements, social care, libraries, and public health.

Our offices are based at Alresford Recreation Centre, Arlebury Park, and we’re always happy to hear from residents. Whether you have a question, a concern, or just want to share a good idea for the town, don’t hesitate to contact us.
